Welcome to the Summer Institute in the Arts & Humanities webpage!

The Summer Institute in the Arts & Humanities is a celebration of the arts and humanities at the University of Hong Kong. Located in the Faculty's brand new Run Run Shaw Tower, it is designed to host the Faculty's activities during the summer. For 2019, the Institute will run from 24 June to 9 August.

Everyone can take part and enjoy the programme. It is composed of different scholarly and creative events. There are workshops, concerts and courses of all kinds intended to give students and the public the opportunity to experience the arts and humanities in a university setting.

In particular, the Summer Institute in the Arts & Humanities provides courses for prospective students, exchange students and other undergraduate students, including HKU students. All the undergraduate courses are credit bearing.

The courses are enhanced by other activities designed to stimulate cultural interest, widen horizons and increase appreciation in the arts. The programme will help develop ways of evaluating and experiencing the world, as well as improve thinking, writing and communication skills.

In 2019, we have diversified courses in English Enhancement, Fine Arts, Global Creative Industries, History, Linguistics, Music, Philosophy. For more details, please view the flyer and course descriptions on the menu bar.
