The Faculty of Arts is recognized throughout the world as a key institution for teaching, research, and promoting the best that the cultures of both East and West have to offer.
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme aims to provide a diverse and varied learning experience that prepares our graduates for an increasingly complex and interconnected world that will require from them innovation and flexibility in adjusting to a globalized job market. BA students can select courses from a list of 22 majors and 30 minors, including three new programmes – Global Creative Industries, Hong Kong Studies, and Korean Studies.
The Faculty also offers three double degree curricula. Two with the Faculty of Education – BA&BEd (Language Education-Chinese) and BA&BEd (Language Education-English), and one with the Faculty of Law – BA (Literary Studies)&LLB.
The Faculty of Arts is internationally regarded for its cutting edge research across the range of its subject areas. Postgraduate education is a key component of the Faculty’s mission to foster new generations of world-class humanities researchers. Through its Research Postgraduate (RPG) and Taugh Postgraduate (TPG) programmes, the Faculty serves the needs of students and new researchers from Hong Kong, China, and the world.

Summer Institute in the Arts and Humanities
The Faculty offers a wide array of both credit-bearing and non-credit-bearing courses during the summer semester targeted at local and international students. Credit-bearing course options include Chinese language and English enhancement courses, as well as courses on the creative industries. Our non-credit-bearing courses emphasize critical thinking and creativity, and offer secondary school students the opportunity to experience university life.
